V2 Runtime

We're excited to be able to announce a preview release of the new runtime. v2 Runtime is a major update that reflects our way of thinking about integration, informed by over 10 years of experience.

Under v2, we've built a completely new design experience, paired with AI that amplifies your productivity. On the backend, the new engine scales to work with millions of rows or TB of data, without requiring any special design changes.

Check back here soon for our launch livestream recording!

We'll begin rolling out v2-enabled updates from March 2026 and you'll be notified when it becomes available in your tenant.

About v1 and v2

It is not necessary to port workflows from v1 to v2 and there's no need to switch over at any point - both v1 and v2 workflows can coexist on the same tenant. The existing (v1) runtime will continue to be maintained and supported including updates to connectors.

When creating a new workflow, users will have the option of choosing v1 or v2. Up to Q3 2026, the default option will be v1 with a secondary option to choose v2. After this date, v2 will be default and v1 will be provided as a secondary option.

Connectors & availability

Unlike v1 connectors, v2 connectors include much richer functionality and deal with much of the plumbing work that needed to be done manually for v1.

v2 Runtime preview initially has a small subset of connectors and we are rapidly working on porting connectors across.

v2 Runtime also includes a new connector SDK, more detail on this will be shared by Q3 2026.

Local runtimes

Where v1 runtime uses DropPoints to invoke specific steps at an on-premises host, v2 includes an installable local runtime.

In v2, entire workflows are configured to run at a specific cluster (either cloud or local), rather than specific steps in the workflow. Local clusters can consist of multiple nodes (i.e. on separate host VM's) to provide high-availability.

Additionally, v2 runtime and its connectors are cross-platform and binaries will be made available for Linux, Mac OS and Windows.
