Local Cluster - Create

Register a local Cluster in the Flowgear Console before installing and connecting its first host.

Prerequisites

• You must be signed in to the Flowgear Console.
• You need a certificate file to complete the certificate trust step. The local Cluster setup tool generates this file.

Tip: You can create the Cluster first and trust the certificate after you run the setup tool.

Step 1: Open Local Clusters

Open Local Clusters in the Flowgear Console.

Step 2: Create a local Cluster

1. Click + New local Cluster. This opens the New local Cluster page.
2. Enter a Name.
3. Select the Environment (or Environments) that can use the Cluster.
4. Optionally, enter a Description.
5. Click Save changes.

After you save, the Cluster opens on its detail page and appears in the Local Clusters list as Offline until a host connects. From this page you can download the Cluster's config.json, which contains all the keys you need when you set up the local Cluster.

Step 3: Trust the certificate

After you run the local Cluster setup tool, upload the exported .cer file so Flowgear can trust connections from the local Cluster.

1. Open the local Cluster in the Flowgear Console to view its detail page.
2. In the Certificate section, drag the certificate file onto the upload area, or click Choose file and select it.

The No trusted certificate label changes to show the certificate thumbprint after the certificate is uploaded.
