Local Cluster - Install v2

Install a Flowgear local Cluster Host on a Windows machine.

Prerequisites

• A Windows machine with administrator privileges.
• Outbound access to port 443 from the machine.
• A local Cluster registered in the Flowgear Console. See Create a local Cluster.

Step 1: Download the installer

In the Flowgear Console, open Local Clusters, and then click Download installer. You can also click Download installer on the local Cluster's detail page or in its Set up this Cluster section.

The installer download requires you to be signed in, so download it on a machine where you can sign in to the Flowgear Console and copy it to the Host machine if necessary.

Step 2: Run the installer

1. Run the downloaded installer.
2. Allow the installer to make changes when Windows User Account Control prompts you.
3. Click Next and complete the installation wizard.

The installer:

• Installs the local Cluster application files. The default installation folder is C:\Program Files\Flowgear\Flowgear Local Runtime.
• Registers the Flowgear Local Cluster Host Windows service (service name FlowgearLocalRuntime) with an automatic startup type.
• Adds the Flowgear Local Cluster Manager shortcut to the Start menu.

The installer does not open the Flowgear Local Cluster Manager app or start the service.

Step 3: Complete setup

After installation, use the Flowgear Local Cluster Manager app to configure the Host, send its certificate to Flowgear, and start the service.
