Assistant Pane v2

The Assistant pane in the designer's right-side action panel contains the current session conversation and controls for approving choices, Connections, and proposed Workflow changes.

Open the Assistant

Click Assistant in the designer action bar.

Closing the pane does not stop the assistant. The conversation and scroll position remain available for the current designer session. The pane can hide automatically when the current Workflow context is no longer safe for that session.

Environment and conversation context

The conversation remains available when you switch Environments within the same Workflow. Sending requests and editing through the assistant are available only in the Test Environment. Return to Test to continue working on the design. An active assistant request can prevent an Environment switch until you finish or reset it.

Opening a different Workflow or Site starts a different session. The conversation is not a saved chat history that you can recover after leaving or reloading the designer.

For a Site conversation outside an open Workflow design, use Chats from the main navigation.

Chat controls

Enter a request in the message field and send it. Sending is disabled while the assistant is busy or an interactive Tool request is awaiting completion.

Start again clears the current conversation and begins a new session. Help center opens help in a new tab.

The conversation includes assistant messages, Tool progress, results, warnings, and the interactive cards described below.

Select options

An option request shows:

  • A single-choice or multiple-choice title.
  • The assistant's reason for asking.
  • Numbered option rows.
  • Selection guidance.
  • Confirm and Cancel.

Confirm is unavailable until the request's selection rule is satisfied. Cancel returns control without inventing an answer; explain the required alternative in the next message.

Select a Connection

The Connection request shows the required Node and how the assistant intends to use the Connection. It lists compatible Connections with search and result counts.

Select a row to answer the request. If none is suitable, Create Connection opens the Connection page in a new tab. Return after saving the Connection. Cancel rejects the request.

The assistant receives the selected Connection's key and contract, not protected credential values.

Review a proposed Workflow

The proposed-Workflow card contains:

  • Open Code in New Tab — opens the proposed YAML for a separate review.
  • Reject — leaves the current Workflow unchanged and reports rejection to the assistant.
  • Accept — applies the proposal to the current in-memory design and reports acceptance.

Accept is one undoable Canvas change. It does not save a revision or release the Workflow. Resolve Problems, run with representative input, inspect Logs, then save the accepted design.

Permissions and safety

The assistant requires Site Administrator access and can report missing authorization. You remain responsible for Connection selection, mutation scope, proposal review, runtime testing, save, and release.

The chat is subject to the linked Assistant data-processing terms. Do not put credentials or unrelated sensitive information in a prompt.
